History manifests itself not only in the architectural designs and events that happened decades back. Moreover, the study of history does not only involve in study archeological and sculptural artifacts. It also consists in studying the fashion of the era, fashion or trends with respect to clothes, cars, music, food and virtually every other thing that defines life.

Fashion of the bygone era is now referred to as Vintage, so the cars of bygone era are referred to as the Vintage cars. Obviously these cars cannot more than half a century old, especially as far as American automobile industry is concerned. Car collectors love these classic cars and are always on the lookout for rare designer models.

Most of these cars can be seen at auto shows and auto fairs and there are dealers that specialize in the sale of these retro cars. At any given moment, it has an exclusive range of brilliantly designed cars from 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. It was mainly during these periods that the best and the most famous cars were manufactured. Muscle cars are the high speed cars, some of them fitted with v8 engine, and elongated two door body with sharp planes and edges. These had redefined the entire racing arena during the 1960s and their affordability made it possible to be used by a large number of citizens. But before buying or restoring a Vintage car to its original glory, there are a few things that you must keep in mind. First and foremost thing to consider is that if you are buying one of the collector cars for the purpose of using it as your current "runaround", then it may be very difficult to use it on roads in today's times. In some states, their use is prohibited because the design and engine specifications used by these Vintage or Muscle cars do not confirm to the latest design specifications.

If nothing else, then the absence of seat belts is also considered a big issue by the traffic and transport authorities. As a solution to this, manufacturers or those restoring the Vintage cars are fitting them with seat belts, better suspension, high power tires and also power steering. These are done in order to make these cars from the bygone era competitive with the latest and most modern cars.

Though there are some baby boomers that are very nostalgic about these cars and feel that the retrofitting (fitting the classic cars with modern amenities) will lead to a loss in their charms. There should not be any retrofitting.
